Collaboration
With visual artist Sophie Mason, Annabel has created the Stowyn Project—an interdisciplinary exploration of materiality and motherhood in a more-than-human world. Combining words with materials as diverse as crayon, sap, soil, walnut, wax, grease, and plant bulbs, Sophie and Annabel use performance to construct an artwork that becomes a space to dream different futures
Writing
My current manuscript is structured as a traditional almanack. Using the backdrop of the seasonal year, the work explores the diverse impacts of power on bodies, ideas of gender, femininity and landscapes, as well as on deeply divisive ways of being in and/or perceiving the world.
Otherwise phrased, it’s a love-song to the place I’m from, as well as an exhortation to live and think more generously about the forces that shape us and our environment.
